3/24/2017
30 POINTS                                                       2 POINT PERSPECTIVE                             DUE: 3/31/17
                                                                                STACK OF 3 BOOKS

Create 3 books stacked on top of each other in 2PP.

Each book must have a cover and the cover has a thickness. (In 2PP)

Each book must have a title about yourself.  Title must be in 2PP

Establish the idea of pages IN 2PP PERSPECTIVE.  Make sure there is a bottom page.

Bow the spine on both sides. (Remember, the spine cover has a thickness!)

       HOW TO DO IT!
1.    Mark two vanishing points on the paper and faintly draw a line between them - this is called the horizon line. Then draw one side/edge of the cube beneath the horizon line and in the centre between the vanishing points.

2.      Draw faint lines from the ends of the edge of the cube to the vanishing points

3.    Draw two more edges of the cube so that two sides of the cube can be clearly seen.

4.    Draw faint guidelines from the ends of these lines to either vanishing point.

3/3/17                                                               Block Letters in Single Point Perspective
30 Points                                                                            Due 3/9/2017-THURSDAY

ASSIGNMENT:  Utilizing the skills learned and the rules outlined when drawing your cube, draw 3 block letters in single point perspective. (Cube assignment is below for your reference)

Rules:
1.    Draw 3 letters in single point perspective.
2.    The letters need to be BLOCK letters.
3.    The letters must be 3" high.
4.    Your paper must be horizontal.
5.     ONLY ONE VP! It is located at the top and center of your paper.
6.    You letter must be colored (use ONLY colored pencil) and outlined.
7.      You need to use your ruler when drawing and when outlining.
8.    Verticals stay vertical.
9.     Erase non-essential lines.
10.    Lines go to the CENTER of the VP.

Instructions:
1.  Draw an X & Y axis and number EACH box on the axis within the coordinate plane.
2.    Draw your 2D letters (just the front of the letters).
3.    Label the coordinate pairs of EACH corner of EACH letter. (Remember that there are "innie" and "outie" corners that need coordinate pairs.
4.    Once that is completed, then connect your corners to create your letter 3D.
5.    Don't forget to END your letter by putting a back onto it.

12/9/16                                                           Single Point Perspective CUBE
15 points                                                                             DUE 12/16/16

1. Draw 3 cubes (1 on each page) in single point perspective. 1 cube ABOVE the horizon line, one cube BELOW the horizon line and one cube ON the horizon line
2.  Make sure the vanishing point (VP or "X") is either to the RIGHT or the LEFT of the cube (not directly on or centered above/below it)
3. Draw one cube per page (use the back of your notes and the front and back of each page.
4. Make your cubes about the size of a grapefruit.

HOW DO I DRAW A CUBE IN SINGLE POINT PERSPECTIVE???
(By following these 5 simple directions!)
1.    Draw a square using right angles.
HINT:  You can make sure your square has right angles by lining up the mechanical edge of  your ruler with the mechanical edge of your paper. VOILA! A straight line!
2. Put the VP to the left or the right on the horizon line. NOT THE CENTER!
3. Connect ALL CORNERS to the VP
4. Put the back of the box on by giving the front square a twin brother (ie another square behind the original square. )
5. Erase non-essential lines

THE RULES

Always turn in your notes with your homework
ALL verticals stay vertical all the time!
Always keep your VP.
Lines from the corners of the square go to the CENTER of the VP.
Lines that are "behind" the cube must be indicated by "dotted" lines.
