Removing Wet Acrylic Paint
Scrape excess: Gently lift wet paint off the fabric using a dull knife or spoon. Do not press the paint deeper into the fibers.
Rinse with cold water: Hold the fabric under cold running water from the back side of the stain to push the paint particles out.
Apply dish soap: Rub liquid dish soap into the area using a clean cloth or sponge in a circular motion.
Wash normally: Launder the garment using cold water. Check the stain before putting the item in the dryer. [1, 2]
Removing Dried Acrylic Paint
Scrape the crust: Use a dull knife edge to gently flake off hardened surface paint.
Soak with alcohol: Pour rubbing alcohol or gel hand sanitizer directly onto the stain and let it sit for at least 5 minutes.
Scrub gently: Work the area using an old toothbrush in circular motions to break up the loosened paint. For stubborn spots, make a paste with equal parts baking soda, dish soap, and rubbing alcohol as recommended by Martha Stewart.
Launder: Rinse the garment with cold water, apply a laundry detergent or OxiClean stain treatment, and wash
